Patient Focused Ambulance Service was founded by Steve Hudson, whose vision was shaped by more than 19 years’ experience as an NHS Senior Paramedic and Operational Commander. Drawing on extensive frontline and leadership expertise, Steve established PFA to deliver high-quality event medical cover, professional patient transport services, UK and European ambulance repatriation, and robust medical training solutions — all underpinned by strong clinical governance and patient-centred care.

As the organisation has grown, so too has its leadership. The service is now jointly driven by Steve and Lauren Eastwood, Chief Operating Officer, who has been instrumental in the development and expansion of PFA over the past four years. Lauren leads operational delivery, governance, compliance, and strategic development, ensuring PFA is well positioned to provide complex patient transport, including High Dependency Unit (HDU) transfers and long-distance repatriations, safely and efficiently.

 

Our clinical workforce includes Doctors, Paramedics, Ambulance Technicians, FREC 3 and 4 clinicians, and First Aiders, all carefully selected for their experience and professionalism. Every member of our team undergoes enhanced DBS checks, role-specific competency assessments, and ongoing training, with many bringing valuable frontline NHS experience into our service. This allows us to staff each transfer — from routine journeys to high-acuity and repatriation cases — with clinicians matched to the patient’s clinical needs.
